KAKKOOS DIRECTOR DIVYA BHARATHI ARRESTED!

Divya Bharathi, who was critically acclaimed for her documentary film, Kaakkoos, was arrested this morning (25th July) by the Madurai Police officials. She was made to appear in the court today and was later released after getting the bail.
Divya Bharathi and her friend Nizam, along with other students were involved in the protest in front of Government Hospital, in Madurai in the year 2009. They had indulged in the protest in connection with the death of a Dalit student, who was bitten by a snake in the Mannar Thirumalai Naicker (MTN) college campus.
Divya Bharathi and Nizam filed for a bail, which got approved and both of them were released very soon. Addressing the media after coming out of bail, she said, "It is just an activity of the politicians to oppress the social activists."
This arrest has not been well received by the public and the celebrities, who have been expressing their anger through social media.
