Kavithalayaa Productions is one of the iconic movie production houses in the Tamil film industry which produced successful feature films and Television serials. It was founded by legendary director K. Balachander in order to support the art of cinema. The house has bankrolled many successful films like Sindhu Bhairavi, Punnagai Mannan, Roja, and many more critically acclaimed ones.
In order to commemorate his 79th Birth Anniversary, K.Balachander's family and his art family come together to organise an event every year. This year's event is taking place today and it is going to be very special. The production house has planned to organise a short film contest, in association with Behindwoods. The winner of the contest will be awarded at the 7th Behindwoods Gold Medals to be held on December 8th, 2019 and will also be given a chance to direct a web-series, produced by Kavithaalaya productions.
Speaking about this, Pushpa Kandaswamy, the daughter of the legendary director and Head of Kavithalaya Productions said: "Usually feature films take a lot of time to get into the production stage. Since Kavithaalaya is already looking forward to producing web-series, the process will be more faster. We would like to create a stage for all the upcoming talents. KB sir once said, "After serials and films, if there is an era of the internet being a medium to produce Online content, I will be ready to do it." His words are coming true now.
Kavithaalaya Productions who had recently produced the web series 'Harmony with AR Rahman', that is streaming on Amazon Prime is planning to come up with more new web series launch plans. 'Harmony with AR Rahman', had five episodes, and it featured AR Rahman traveling to various parts of the country to find talented musicians, and collaborate with all of them for a song.
