Actress Jyothika was last seen playing the lead in Radha Mohan's Kaatrin Mozhi, where she reprised the role of a homemaker-turned-radio jockey essayed by Vidya Balan in the original, Tumhari Sulu. Jyothika will be next seen in debutant director S. Raj’s Ratchasi.
Ratchasi is produced by SR Prabhu and SR Prakash Babu under the banner Dream Warrior Entertainment. 'Monster' fame cinematographer Gokul Benoy has shot the film while the music and background score is composed by Sean Roldan.
There was a buzz on the social media that the film was all set to hit big screens on June 28 but now, sources have revealed that the team is planning to release the film on July 5. And one of the leading entertainment channels, Star Vijay is in talks to bag the theatrical rights of the film. However, an official update on the same is awaited.
Meanwhile, Jyothika will also be next seen in director Kalyan's Jackpot, in which actress Revathy will play the second lead, and 'Papanasam' director Jeethu Joseph's next film which has Karthi playing a central role.
