GAUTHAM MENON EXCLUSIVE ON TRANCE, TROLLS, STRUGGLES AND BIKING: "PAST 4-5 YEARS HAVE NOT BEEN GREAT.."
Home > Tamil Movies > Tamil Cinema NewsScreenwriter, director, producer and actor Gautham Vasudev Menon pondered that success of the love stories created by his is due to the reason that audiences are being able to identify with his films "My stories are based on real life, there must be Jessie or Karthik in their lives."
Gautham said that though he is a reluctant actor, he agreed to do Trance primarily due to the crew associated with the project "Fahadh had once told me to meet Anwar Rasheed, and I was aware of Anwar Rasheed's work. I wanted to see how the team works and the discussions that take place. I wanted to see how Amal Neerad (Trance's cinematographer). It may be a cliché to use the word international, but the trailer is international. (Working in the film) was a huge learning for me."
Gautham Menon implied that his films are personal "Everything (about my films) is from life. I used to travel to Ottappalam to spend my summer holidays. A journey for love is one of my favourite things, and I have done that."
He also cited an example from Minnale to further that "The scenes that happened in college happened to me too, but . I had a mutual misunderstanding with my warden. As a result, I locked his door, and I threw crackers inside his room. These are not good examples to say in front of the camera, but I was not as wild as the character in the film, and I am a toned-down version of it."
The 'Kaakha Kaakha' director opened up about trolls and the criticism regarding the delay in his film's release "Past four to five years have not been so great (for me). The delay in releases is a part of the business and we are trying to sort it out. If people are so worried, and trolls comment on the film's release, I ask them to come and give some money, so that I can release the film on time."
Gautham also talks about his love for biking "One can reach a destination within fifty-five minutes with the help of a bike. With a car, you have to wait in a lot of signals. I am on the bike for three years and I am safe and enjoying it."
