DIRECTOR PA. RANJITH OPENS UP ON THE DEATH OF FATHIMA LATHEEF- STATEMENT HERE

Recently, Pa. Ranjith tweeted about the suicide of Fatheema, a humanities student from IIT-Madras. In his post, the  director lamented that the dreams of many students are being shattered due to the existence of casteism and religious bias within the premises of educational institutions.

Adding to that, Ranjith said that the will of students whose economic status doesn’t deter them from excelling in academics are being systematically destroyed by certain elements of the institutions and compared Fatheema’s death to the unfortunate demise of scholar and activist Rohith Vemula.

The director ended his note by saying that it is the responsibility of everyone to prevent such crimes in the future. The demise of Fatheema Latheef has sent shockwaves to citizens across the state of Tamil Nadu and the country.
