''BREAKUP IS PAINFUL BUT IT IS OK TO GO THROUGH PAIN''

Director Deekay after his horror-comedy flick Yamirukka Bayamay is busy with Kavalai Vendam starring Jiiva, Kajal Aggarwal, Sunaina, Bobby Simha and others.

Updating about the film, Deekay states, “Kavalai Vendam is a complete fun ride and is a romantic comedy. Breakup is a painful thing. There are many problems in relationships, be it with husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend or friends. My film is about handling such relationships. We have touched upon many sensitive areas, but they have been hilariously narrated. It is ok to go through pain because sometimes it makes you a better person. Watching Kavalai Vendam will be like getting into a massage centre and coming out all rejuvenated and a lot happier. I can guarantee two hours of de-stress times.

We went on a month schedule at Coonoor which was great as the cast members met each other for the first time and got to know one another. I have worked with Jiiva and Kajal as an assistant director earlier. But this is the first time I am directing them. I have brought in a huge ensemble cast in the form of Bobby Simha, Sunaina, R J Balaji, Mayilsamy sir and others in addition to the lead cast. There were many combination scenes. I did have my apprehensions as how this is going to be, whether they all will be in sync or not, but much to my relief, it turned out to be like going to college. We had a fun shoot.

To be very honest, everyone was wondering if Kajal would be on time as she is in the bigger league heroine. But she broke all those anxieties and worked day and night to complete the shoot. Jiiva had been extremely cooperative. We were shooting for 16, 17 hours continuously.

Sixty percent of the shoot is over. We are on a schedule break now. There is another schedule that will happen in Chennai somewhere around the 1st or 2nd week of March. We have plans to shoot in Chennai, Bangalore and another hill station, which we are yet to decide.

Right now post-production is happening parallelly. Leon James is composing music and is working to give his best. I am planning to shoot songs in the last”.
