On the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, Suriya’s much-awaited Soorarai Pottru team had given a surprise to by announcing its release in the digital platform skipping the theatrical release.
With the movie announced and scheduled for a direct OTT release on October 30, this sudden decision was met with a mix of different responses amongst the distributors, exhibitors, directors and the fans.
While some also supported the move taken by the actor keeping the hard-work of the people behind the film in mind, popular director and actor Bharathiraja has given out his first ever review for this movie.
The director reveals, “In GV Prakash’s music and Sudha Kongara’s directorial, watching Suriya stunning everyone yet again has made me more excited about this film. This film will definitely mark as an important one in the history of Tamil cinema and will be a proud moment for all the Tamilians!
Bharathiraja has issued a press release saying producers are left with no options now but to take the OTT route. He also blames high ticket, snacks and parking rates in theaters and further asks not to single out actor Suriya for his OTT decision.
