''ANIRUDH MIGHT COMPOSE MUSIC FOR VIP 3'', DHANUSH

Anirudh Ravichander was one of the biggest reasons for the first part of VIP to reach a mass audience and become a grand success. All the songs from the album were chartbusters, and when it was announced that Sean Roldan would compose the music for the sequel of VIP, a section of people were disappointed. During yesterday's press meet, Dhanush revealed the reason why Sean was selected to score the music for VIP 2.

He said, "Taking VIP into account, the film's story, the emotions, the characters, lead Raghuvaran, who was a bachelor, a youngster, an unemployed youth, and film's sensibilities were concerning the youngsters. So, I was able to get the right kind of music that I wanted for VIP, and he was the right person for a film of that story and mood. Now, in part 2, Raghuvaran is married, and all other characters become more emotionally mature. I felt, there was a need for different kinds of sounds and tones for VIP 2, as the sensibilities and the situations handled in this film is much different from the first. Hence, I and Soundarya decided to get Sean onboard. There is going to be a new character called Vasundhara Parameshwaran in the second part, and we thought we have to give a totally different dimension to her and the VIP franchise.  So, we wanted to change the three chief technicians (music, edit, DoP), so that the sequel gets a different makeover.
 

Once I finish writing the script of VIP3, according to the sensibility, emotions, and mood of that script, I'd choose the music director. If Sean would be suitable, I would go for him. Even Anirudh might compose. Only after finishing the script I'd get an idea. When we told Sean about him composing music for VIP 2, we asked him for a different set of tunes, totally different and contrasting from the first part. But he was the one, who insisted on retaining few key themes in the sequel, as it would help the audience get connected with the characters."
