This is the voting time for Indians as the polling for the Lok Sabha 2019 elections are happening in full pace around the country around different dates in various constituencies. Everywhere elections had celebrities and people casting their votes and spreading about the importance of vote.
It was rumoured that Deepika Padukone will not be able to cast her vote in the upcoming elections as she is not a citizen of India as she owns a Danish Passport. Since India doesn’t allow dual citizenship, it was stated that she would not be voting during the elections.
Although no official statement was released from the actress on this, there were much discussions about the same and it was strongly believed that the actress won’t be casting her vote. Deepika Padukone has recently posted a picture that has strongly shut down all rumours about the citizenship.

She released a picture of her finger being inked after she had cast a vote. She had posted this picture with a caption that she has never doubted who she was or where she was from and has also stated no one needs to be confused for her. She has also used a hashtag telling people to go and vote. This has conveyed all the message that needs to be conveyed with respect to her citizenship.
