OFFICIAL: FEMALE LEAD OF YOGI BABU'S GURKHA ANNOUNCED AND IT IS A FOREIGNER!

Without any doubt, Yogi Babu is one of the leading comedians in K-town, who is riding high on the massive success of his role in Nayanthara's Kolamaavu Kokila. The much sought after comedian, is part of some interesting biggies including Vijay's Sarkar, Ajith's Viswasam, STR's untitled film with Sundar C, and a few more. Meanwhile, he is also making his mark as the lead, with Gurkha, that is directed by Sam Anton of Darling fame.
 

The makers have officially announced the female lead of this project and it will be a Canadian model. Elyssa will be essaying the role of an American Ambassador in this comedy entertainer and her role will carry a pivotal scope. However, director Sam clarifies that Elyssa will not be pairing opposite Yogi Babu, though playing the female lead. Apart from Yogi Babu and Elyssa, a dog will also play an important character in the film. 

Talking about the process of signing her in the film, Sam shares, "She just nailed it down with an effortless performance during the auditions by merely grasping the role and situation." Gurkha is all set to go on floors from December and the entire film is expected to be completed in one single schedule. Bankrolled by 4 Monkeys Studios, Gurkha has cinematography by Krishnan Vasanth and editing by Ruben.

Sam Anton is also busy finishing the post production works of his current film, 100, starring Atharvaa and Hansika in the lead roles.
