Theatres and multiplex owners announced a new revenue method of settling producers based on the lead actor in a movie. Director Bharathiraja has released an official statement regarding this development recently.
“At the moment when Tamil Film Producers’ Council do not have a proper leadership, the revenue model announced by the Theatre Owners’ association seem to be destructive for the Producers’ council.”
“If the new plan to settle money to producers based on actors comes to practice, the distributors who are already facing a big dip will near their greatest destruction which cannot be prevented by anyone.”

Whatever decision the Tamilnadu Theatre owners’ association takes, it would be nice if they would discuss it with the Producers’ council before implementation. If these things are not followed, there will be a big protest organised by the Producers.”
