BREAKING - BEHINDWOODS GOLD MEDALS - SHORT FILMS CONTEST 2016 RESULTS

Behindwoods Gold Short films contest is an initiative by Behindwoods to provide the much-needed breakthrough that aspiring filmmakers await. This is the second edition of the contest.

Last year, we received around 300 short films out of which two were awarded the Behindwoods Gold Medal while two received special mention. Behindwoods with a sense of pride confirms that one of the short films, Muse managed to win 12 other awards in 2015. To add to this list, Muse had been shortlisted for the 63rd National Film Awards, Non-feature category too. Desingh Periyasamy's 99 has impressed many producers and they have requested him to convert it into a feature. Big announcements from this aspiring young man are awaited as he has signed on the dotted lines for a popular production house. 

Out of more than 550 entries, we received this year, one short filmmaker will be awarded the Behindwoods Gold Medal while three others will be given a place of honor on the Behindwoods Gold Wall of Fame. All the four best short filmmakers will also win a chance to narrate their scripts to popular production houses like the Sri Thenandal Films, AGS Entertainment, Thirukumaran Entertainment, PVP Cinemas, Global United Media, Vijay Antony Film Corporation.

The winner will be announced at the Behindwoods Gold Medals event that is scheduled to happen on Sunday, the 24th July. Stay tuned for the results.
