Namitha is a popular model, actress and social worker who won the Miss Trans Star International 2020 pageant. 'Nadodigal 2' marked her singing and acting debut. The movie also starred M Sasikumar, Anjali and Athulya Ravi. She is the first transgender contestant to enter the show. Earlier in the day, Namitha shocked fans and left them teary-eyed while talking about her struggles of being accepted as a transwoman by her parents and the society.

In an exclusive interview to Behindwoods, Namitha's trans mom Sudha spoke about her initial struggles and how Namitha rose up the ranks as a popular model and celebrity. Sudha said that although her parents have accepted her as a woman, she had to face a lot of difficulties over the years. "It's been 12 years since she transitioned, but the pain of her parents not accepting her has deeply left a scar in her heart. The fact that this will continue for even the next generation scares her. Parents should accept children as they are. If they do, then where is the need for them to go on streets. I have also suffered the same way," she said. 

Talking about Namitha, Sudha said she gets very angry at times. "When she gets angry, she doesn't see who is who, but then she gets calm within sometime and introspects her actions. If the fault is hers. she apologises soon," Sudha said and added that she's hopeful that Namitha will use the opportunity wisely and win the competition.
