Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan's lifestory was long back announced to be drafted into a biopic, with the project being titled '800', in honor of the number of wickets he had taken during the course of his innings.

But now since the time motion poster of the film was released recently, the lead actor Vijay Sethupathi who was set to star in the film, received a huge backlash owing to his involvement in the project, because years back, Muthiah Muralitharan had stated that 2009 was the best year in his life, the same year which lead to the mass killings of Tamils in Sri Lanka. In a very recent statement days back, Muthiah Muralitharan clarified that he had conveyed the statement in the tone that 2009 was the year the war ended and that's why he felt that was the best year of his entire life.

Now, as the Srilankan cricketer had released a statement asking Vijay Sethupathi to drop the project due to the rising controversies and the actor's subsequent reply tweet, an audio from the recent interview of the actor to a Srilankan media has taken over the internet - In the audio, the actor seems to speak in a confirming tone of doing the project, stating that the film will be the reply to all the questions.

But, his latest tweet plants doubts in the minds of his fans and film critics, who are ambiguous about Makkal Selvan Vijay Sethupathi's decision on the biopic movie.
