Directed by Atlee, the sports-drama featured Nayanthara as the female lead while Jackie Shroff, Vivekh, Yogi Babu, Daniel Balaji amongst others in prominent roles.
Produced by Kalpathi S. Aghoram under the banner AGS Entertainment, the film has been received well by the Thalapathy fans and it has been appreciated for the messages it delivered.
Bigil tells the story of Michael, who coaches a female football team due to unexpected circumstances. The film explores the themes of women empowerment within the sports-based milieu.
