But did you know, in actress Aishwarya's own words, she was approached for Roja but had let the opportunity slip because, "I was committed to some stupid film." (Rediff, 2000).
"After I saw Roja, I was tearing my hair and calling myself, mad, mad, mad! It came to you and because of your stupidity and principles, you gently pushed it away saying, 'Sorry, I can't do it.' It is like saying 'no' to amruth (nectar)," she was quoted as saying.
Cut to present, Aishwarya is seen in supporting roles and has made her mark as a character artiste. Her performances in films such as Abhiyum Naanum have come in for much appreciation.
