At one corner of the tinsel town, certain production companies tend to finish films without any frenzy or fuss. Raja Mandhiri is one such film with Madras fame Kalaiyarasan (also playing the baddie in Urumeen) and Mundasupatti fame Kaali Venkat, playing brothers with equal importance given to both.

P.G.Muthiah handles the camera and also the production department, with Usha Krishnan directing this village based, commercial-cocktail film. Selva does the editing and Pannaiyarum Padminiyum fame Justin Prabhakaran has composed the tunes.

Shaalin Zoya, a 17 year old newbie plays the heroine. With most of the portions shot at Mannargudi, only 6 days are left to complete the film.
