Magizh Thirumeni on the importance of English and Tamil

Director Magizh Thirumeni has made a mark for himself with films like Thadayara Thaakka and Meaghamann and is also known for his passion towards the language Tamil.

In a recent event to mark the release of a short film ‘Akku’ made by students of an international school, Magizh addressed the gathering and talked about the importance of Tamil.

On a general perception about communicating in English, Magizh said, “English is just a language of communication and is being used to exchange information. Hence students should understand this and learn the language”.

He also added that leaders like Abdul Kalam had only studied in Tamil medium school and therefore the student community should not have a mental block towards Tamil and look upon various languages as just a means of communication and use them effectively.
