MAESTRO ILAYARAJA HONOURED AT ONE OF INDIA’S LARGEST FILM GATHERINGS

Maestro Ilaiyaraja was awarded the Centenary Award for Lifetime Achievement during the inauguration of the 46th International Film Festival of India today (November 20th, 2015) at Panaji, Goa. The legendary composer was honoured by Arun Jaitley, the Minister for Information and Broadcasting, and actor Anil Kapoor, in the presence of a very large gathering consisting of filmmakers, artistes, technicians and film enthusiasts. 

 

Ilaiyaraja, during his speech post the award ceremony, iterated that music must be taught at every educational institution in the country and also took the opportunity to express his grief over the growing incidents of violence across the globe.
