“After Naan Kadavul people told me that they still see the smelly beggar in me” – Pooja

For her incredible work in Vidiyum Munn, the comeback queen, Pooja Umashankar won her first Behindwoods Gold Medal for Best Acting Performance. Her director in Pattiyal, Vishnuvardhan honoured the lady by presenting the award.
 

In her acceptance speech, she said, “I came all the way from Srilanka to get this award. This is Behindwoods’ first event. When the baby is born, I have to be there. Such events are actually great. Winning an award is one thing, but, we also get to meet friends in the industry after a long time. That is what you people do for us.”
 

“I see Behindwoods as a great family after watching their video. After Naan Kadavul people told me that they still see the smelly beggar when they look at me and did not offer me any role. But Balaji Kumar trusted me and offered me this role. Big thanks to him for that.”
