Kochadaiiyaan's Overseas Box-office Collections

Superstar Rajini is known to enjoy the biggest overseas market among all Tamil stars and his fan base is spread all over the world. His latest release, Kochadaiiyaan opened on May 23 in all the major overseas markets with advance premiers on May 22 itself in many markets. 

 

The opening weekend numbers of Kochadaiiyaan (Thursday to Sunday) from some of the key overseas markets have been made available by Rentrak, a leading portal that tracks box-office collections in many nations across the world. These collection numbers are excluding the Telugu and Hindi versions of the movie (which are minuscule compared to the huge numbers posted by the Tamil original)

 

USA - 436,165 USD (around 2.56 crores) from 104 reported screens

 

Canada - 55,478 USD (around 32.61 lakhs) from 18 reported screens

 

UK and Ireland - 79,404 pounds (around 78.31 lakhs) from 34 reported screens

 

Australia - 119,597 ASD (around 64.73 lakhs) from 13 reported screens

 

Malaysia - 505,821 Malaysian Ringgits (around 92.45 lakhs) from 29 reported screens

 

Earlier in the day, an official press statement claimed that Kochadaiiyaan's opening weekend gross from overseas markets is 12 crores. The overall worldwide opening weekend gross is reported to be 42 crores (30 crores gross in India)
