Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal - first 3 days' Tamil Nadu box-office collections

Udhayanidhi Stalin's second release as a lead hero, Idhu Kathirvelan Kadhal opened on February 14th as a Lovers' Day special. The film opened to very good occupancies in Chennai city and the story is similar across the state too.

 

The presence of popular stars such as Santhanam, Nayanthara and the bankable brand value that Red Giant Movies and Udhay carry, are some of the reasons for the good opening.

 

At the end of the first weekend, the film is reported to have grossed between 10 to 11 crores across Tamil Nadu, by trusted trade sources. In Chennai City, the film is estimated to have grossed 1.15 crores. These figures are right up there with some of the other medium budget hit films in recent times.

 

It would be interesting to see how the film holds on through the weekdays.
