AR Rahman and Ilayathalapathy Vijay’s hat-trick?

Academy Award winner AR Rahman has always been very selective about his projects. However, coming out of his regulars, Mani Ratnam and Shankar, lately the composer has also been keen on taking up projects of promising upcoming filmmakers like Bharath Bala and Vasantha Balan.
 

We now hear that, he could hop on board the Vijay – Chimbudevan project (Vijay 58) that will be produced by Shibu Thameens and PT Selvakumar under SKT Studios. AR Rahman and Vijay have worked together in the past twice, in Udhaya and Azhagiya Thamizh Magan. Vijay 58 could be their third one together, but sources claim that it is too early to comment on the development.
 

For now, Vijay’s focus is completely on his A.R.Murugadoss project, which is being planned as a Diwali release. Currently the team is stationed at Hyderabad. Also starring Samantha, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Tota Roy and Satish in important roles, the movie has music by Anirudh and cinematography by George C Williams.
 

Concrete reports on Vijay 58 can be expected only after the completion of the Jilla star’s current project.
