After being present at the prestigious Grammy Awards in L.A a few days back, the Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman had descended upon Scotland for a very special occasion. The BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra performed some of Rahman’s scores from his work for the Lord of the Rings musical and for the Danny Boyle film 127 Hours. The highlight, according to the organizers, was AR Rahman himself taking to the stage and seating himself behind the piano for a piece from his Slumdog Millionaire

AR Rahman’s influence and excellence was also acknowledged and rewarded with a doctorate from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland which the composer remarked as being a great honor.
