Sep 22, 2014 The director of the upcoming Naaigal Jaakirathai, Shakti Soundar Rajan is a mighty pleased man, thanks to the way the movie has shaped up. In a chat with Behindwoods, the director opens up.
"The first copy will be ready this week and we would be sending the movie to the censors. We are waiting and watching on the release date, as we have confidence in our product and wish to release it at the right time. But 5 to 7 big producers have expressed interest in releasing the film. An own release by Sathyaraj sir is also possible.
Sibiraj is a delight to work with and we share a great rapport. Any other actor or star wouldn't have tolerated 13 dog bites and the following rabies injections. Even in the title card, the dog 'Idoh' would be listed first. Being his home production, Sibi didn't show any ego at all. After Naanayam, which didn't work well at the box-office, Sibi gave me another opportunity to direct a film, contrary to general industry sentiment. We have made the film on a controlled budget and it should hopefully be safe commercially.
I would like to thank directors Karthik Subbaraj, Balaji Tharaneetharan and Arivazhagan for sharing the trailer of my film in their social media space. Celebs like Siddharth, Khushboo and other big stars have also tweeted the trailer and I am grateful to them for the support and goodwill. This is a very healthy aspect of the Tamil industry.
Interestingly we have scenes to please both Ajith fans and Vijay fans. Vijay sir also saw the trailer recently and appreciated Sibi.
Arundhati plays the female lead role while Mano Bala and Mayilsamy will also be seen in small roles. The film would mainly be about the travel between the dog Idoh and Sibi"
