Villa jumps in to compete with Arrambam and Pandianadu

Last week, there weren't any Tamil releases after a long time, as the Diwali releases were still very much ruling the roost. But, now with a few of the Diwali releases nicely settling into their run, we have three new Tamil films hitting the screens today - Villa, Ravana Desam and Apple Penne. A big Hindi film, Ram Leela, is also releasing big down South, tomorrow.

Villa has managed to get good screens particularly from tomorrow. It is being screened in all the multiplexes (albeit in the smaller screens) and also some of the prominent single screens in the city such as Kasi and Ganapathyram. The advance bookings have been healthy in the main properties across Chennai and the opening weekend is expected to be even more solid, if the early reviews are good today.

Apple Penne and Ravana Desam haven't got many screens and are just running a few shows.

Ravana Desam - 161 mins

Apple Penne - 142 mins
