As we reported over the past few weeks, Vishal’s Samar was riddled with one problem after the other. While the film was slated for release on the last Friday of December 2012, it was postponed due to various factors. The production house then targeted Pongal as the release date, but it looks like that too will be tested.

Our sources tell us that there are certain pending payments to a particular vendor, who has won a stay order in the court on the film’s release till all dues are settled. While the team at Samar’s camp may go all out to ensure that the needful is done to ensure a Pongal release, there are equal chances that the film might be postponed again to a later date.

In case Samar gets postponed to January end, the audience could get to watch two of Vishal's films as we hear that his project with Sundar C ‘Madha Gaja Raja’ is all set for a Republic Day release. This will give Vishal a unique regard for having two of his films coming out in the same time like popular stars in the past like Rajini, Prabhu and Vijayakanth.
