The news of Kanaka’s death, which came out about a week ago, would have shocked us all. However, the quick action of the press, revealed that the actress is still hale and healthy. In a recent interview, Kanaka expressed her views about the news.
 

‘A few of my friends called me up and told me that the press had released news that I had cancer. I did not take the news seriously. But when I heard the news of my death, I was shocked. The people do not know how I look right now. I think they would have seen someone else who looked just like me and would have spread the news. I would like to inform the people that I do not have cancer and that I am perfectly healthy by God’s grace.’
 

Kanaka also spoke about her mother, Devika, who was also an actress during the black and white ages.
 

‘I am an exact replica of my mother. My mother has also asked me to keep away from controversies. She has asked me not to create bad name for others or for myself. I am trying my best to live up to her expectations. I have never crossed the boundaries set by my mother.’
 

The actress answered a few lighter questions expressing her love for animals and told about the long list of pets she has at home. She is fond of pets and apparently has a dog, a few cats, a squirrel, love birds and a rabbit at home.
 

The actress made her debut in the movie ‘Karakattakaran’, which was a blockbuster that featured Ramarajan in the lead.  She acted in numerous other Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu movies starring with actors like Rajinikanth, Prabhu, Karthik, SarathKumar and Vijaykanth.
