Story: As the title suggests, Dhanush is an unemployed engineering graduate and gets insulted at various places. He gets job as a Civil Engineer and what happens next forms the crux of the story. VIP = Thiruda Thirudi + Polladhavan + Yaaradi Nee Mohini + Thiruvilayadal Arambam

Dhanush – National Award Winning Actor has yet again lived his role. It looks like that few of his mannerisms were like his father-in- law Rajinikanth.  Most of the engineering students & unemployed graduates will relate themselves to his characterization in the movie and will love the first half. But, only very few could relate themselves to employed Civil Engineer in the second half, as it turns out to be yet another commercial action movie, with mass scenes & punch dialogues praising the hero. No one can do the role as good as Dhanush as an unemployed graduate. His expressions, even for ordinary scenes, add more value to the usual script.

Amala Paul –She has good characterization in the first half and disappears in the second half, like usual commercial movie heroines.

Samuthirakani & Saranya – They have given their best as usual as Dhanush’s parents. Scenes between them and Dhanush have come out really well. Scenes between Dhanush & his bike too have come out well.

Surabhi – She appears in the second half. She looks beautiful like a doll. Though her characterization is good, she doesn’t have any scope to act in the movie.

Vivek – He too appears only in the second half and takes care of comedy with one-liners.

Cinematographer Arunbabu – Though the cinematography in the first half was quite good, it looks quite average in the building construction sites in the second half.

Anirudh Ravichander – It is hard to believe that he has composed for only fewer movies. He is at his best yet again. Songs & BGM add more value to the movie.

Editor Rajesh Kumar - Movie runs for 2 hours and 13 minutes only. First half completely engages the audience with good dialogues, related with unemployment. Though, second half runs only for 1 hour, audience may feel it very lengthy.

Director Velraj – He had impressed the audience with his wonderful cinematography in Engeyum Eppodhum , 3, Aadukalam, Ethir Neechal, Udhayam, etc.  He has given an excellent engaging first half with scenes, which any graduate will be able to relate to. Dhanush calls the villain as Amul Baby and tells him that he doesn’t even consider him as villain in a scene. Audience too may feel the same and hence, the cat & mouse game in the second half doesn’t engage the common man, but will satisfy Dhanush’s hardcore fans.

Overall, Dhanush impresses the audience as an unemployed graduate in the first half and couldn’t engage the audience completely as employed civil engineer (second half)

First Half – 3.25 / 5 & Second Half – 2.25 / 5

Rating of this movie by Common Man - 2.75 / 5

Rating of this movie for Dhanush’s fans – 3 / 5
