More
important than the story is the way it has been presented.
The premise in itself is different and interesting.
Recreating the Madurai of the 80s is not an easy task
but the crew have reportedly given it their all, leaving
no stone unturned to achieve the perfect period look.
Even the cast has taken efforts to look the part - which
you will acknowledge once you see the stills or the
rushes. The script is going to be the hero are the reports
we have been getting about this movie, which is supposed
to present a familiar story in a very novel manner.
It’s not only the movie in itself that has been
shot meticulously, they have also realized the importance
of good promotion and thus may have ended up setting
a precedent of sorts in Tamil cinema. The Subramaniapuram
crew has shot a special promotional song video that
will not be part of the actual movie. The specialty
of the song is that the cast will appear for the major
part looking contemporary, with the movie rushes flashing
on and off. This style of promotion is very ‘Bollywoodish’
and will definitely grab a few eyeballs.
Subramaniapuram will have Jai (Rockers Raghu of Chennai28),

Swathi (Adavari Maataluku Aradhalu Verule), Kanja Karuppu
and a handful of youngsters in major roles. The movie is directed
and produced by Sasi Kumar. The reason for quite some weighty
expectations going along with this film is that Sasi Kumar
is a former assistant of Ameer and Bala. Anyone who has passed
through these two schools of cinema should know the trade
well.
Let Sasi take us on a rustic ride to Madurai. |
