Dhaam Dhoom, Cinematographer-director Jeeva’s last film which has been shot entirely in Russia but for song sequences which have been canned in Pollachi, Chennai, Coorg and Hyderabad.

Russia is the place around which the entire film is woven. The film starts at Chennai, travels to Moscow and culminates in Chennai. Pollachi appears in flash back scenes.
Jeyam Ravi leaves for a five day medical conference to Russia where he gets caught in a tight spot. How he returns to India forms the main plot of the film. Though the film appears to be an action packed one, it delves on the romantic angle in an artistic manner.

Screen play revolves around Jeyam Ravi a medical student from Chennai, Kangana Ranaut a chirpy, naughty girl from Pollachi and Lakshmi Roy, a lawyer settled in Russia.

Jeeva’s associate Manikandan reveals that though English unites many nations across the world, Russia is still untouched by this language and this aspect will be understood when watching Dhaam Dhooom, he further adds.

Dhaam Dhoom, a spectacular visual treat which encompasses Russia’s 200 year old library and court, picturesque locations in Coorg and Pollachi which are very aesthetically captured.

Kangana Ranaut who appeared in Hindi films like Gangster, life in Metro has traveled south of Vindhyas to Tamil for the first time and looks ravishing and acts too. Lakshmi Roy is reported to have pinned her hopes on this film to get a firm footing in Kollywood. Jeyam Ravi’s chasing scenes in Russia has tuned out very well. Chris Anderson who has worked in films like “War of the World” has choreographed the action sequences. A fine romantic film spun around action laden with emotions.

Jeeva has handled the screen play and cinematography in the initial part and his assistant Manikandan has carried on his mantle later. Camera has been handled by Rajashekar.

Now for how the songs have been picturized:

Aazhiyile penned by Muthukumar is a sensual number which has been shot in a moving car in Chennai.

Anbe En Anne, once again written by Muthukumar is picturized on Ravi and Kangana in Coorg. A difficult piece to capture indeed! Hard work of the entire unit is evident. Jeeva’s stamp is visible in every frame in this number.
Item number Dhikku Dhikku written by Paa Vijay has Russian model Maria gyrating to the steps of Raju Sundaram and this is the last song shot by Jeeva. The song has been completely canned at the Ramoji Rao Film studios at Hyderabad. A very fast and peppy number which would make the audience stand up and dance.

Sakhiye sakhiye number written by Paa Vijay captures the beauty and elegance of St. Petersburg and the interiors of the churches there are a visual treat.

Pudhu Pudhu vazhi, the intro number of Jeyam Ravi has an Iranian tea stall set erected by art director Thota Tharani. The song is said to be shot for five days with 500 junior artists.
