It
was expected around Valentine’s
Day, but here it is. Aanandha
Thandavam is special, not because
of its stars, its director or
the fact that it is from Aascar
Films, but because it is a screen
adaptation of the novel ‘Pirivom
Santhippom’ by the late
Sujatha. Written nearly 20 years
ago by the great writer, director
Gandhi Krishna had got |

the formal permission from the writer to film
the story before his unfortunate demise.
Aanandha Thandavam is about two people of
extremely different outlooks. The heroine
(Tamanna) is one who toes the line set by
her parents; she doesn’t wish or will
to do anything that they would disagree with.
The hero (debutante Siddharth) is at the opposite
end of the spectrum. He respects his parents
all right, but when it comes to important
decisions in his life, he trusts only himself.
What happens when two such diverse personalities
fall in love? Will they be able to find the
compatibility that is so important in a relationship?
The story reportedly deals with how two long
lost lovers handle their feelings when they
meet once again in unexpected circumstances.
Does their love catch up with them and change
their lives? Watch Aanandha Thandavam.
The quality of the story can never be in doubt.
After all, it came from Sujatha. But many
think that novels lose their impact when filmed
on big screen. But this one had the go ahead
given by Sujatha himself and so we can trust
his belief in Gandhi Krishna’s abilities
to bring out the story well. Apart from the
story, the other highlight of the film will
be its locations. Half of the story is set
in USA, which has been captured quite beautifully,
the songs will be visual treats, and the trailers
have given a sneak peek already. The movie
will also establish Tamanna’s ascendancy
in Kollywood; this being her second release
in two weeks after Ayan.
Music for Aanandha Thandavam has been scored
by the young G.V. Prakash, which supported
by some rich visuals should captivate us.
Aanandha Thandavam will be a feel-good romantic
fare and for those who think that this year’s
Valentine’s Day lacked a good romantic
release; this might be the one you have been
waiting for. |
