Nenjirukkum
Varai is the next directorial project
that Vijay’s father S.A.Chandrashekar
is committed to. This film was launched
formally last week. When Vijay spoke
on this occasion, he is said to have
lamented about his father working
even at this age. Vijay being a very
devoted son had said, “I have
been asking him to take rest and enjoy
his life but he is not listening”.
The recent films like Sukran and Mutham
which was directed by Chandrashekar
did not produce desired results at
the box office. Aadi, the film that
he produced also did not yield a fruitful
result. Considering all this, Vijay
must have apparently felt that the
time is ripe for his father’s
retirement.
But
in the past Chandrashekar was known to
have given success films like ‘Naan
Sigappu Manidan’, ‘Sattam
Oru Vilayattu’, ‘Needikku
Dandanai’ etc. Going by these lines,
SAC as he is fondly called does not want
to call it a day yet. Reacting to Vijay’s
comment, he said that it feels much younger
to compete with directors like Dharani
and that his directorial assignments would
never cease.
