The
shooting for Dasavatharam is picking up
speed by the day. Oscar Ravichandran is
putting no stops on the money, the script
has been pre-written and well discussed
in advance, K S Ravikumar is as fast as
ever and Kamal wants the movie out for Tamil
New Year. All factors combined, the shooting
is progressing at a frenetic pace and some
people are just not able to keep up.
We
had reported that Sameer Chanda was
the art director for the movie. But
his work has not been able to match
the pace of Kamal and K.S.R. He always
seems to have to bring people in from
Mumbai for the work to be done and
this has resulted in delays. So, after
deliberation, K.S.R and Kamal have
decided that they have enough of delays
and sacked Sameer Chanda. Sameer had
earlier worked with Kamal for Aalavandhan
and is currently working for Mani’s
Guru.
The replacement drafted in is Prabhakar.
He is the man who designed the sets
for Virumaandi and then got the state
award for his work in Cheran’s
Autograph. It remains to be seen whether
he can match the pace of this swift
working combination.
This
is the second technical change for Dasavatharam.
Earlier there was a big confusion as to
who would be the cameraman until finally
they settled for Ravivarman. Whether such
constant changes will affect the way in
which the movie is made is a cause for concern.
Let’s hope that these do not reflect
on the movie.
