News
about Ajith’s next venture is
out a week ago. For folks who just
tuned in, here is the update: Ajith
will be seen in the remake of a hit
Malayalam movie by name Kireedam (which
had Mohanlal in the lead), which is
eventually produced by noted producer
Balaji’s (Mohanlal’s father-in-law)
son Suresh Balaji in collaboration
with Mumbai based Adlabs. The movie
will start right after Ajith’s
completion of Aalwar and the name
Kireedam is retained as in the Malayalam
version.
The
movie has an emotional story line,
which narrates about the relationship
between a strict father who is a police
constable and his son. The son happens
to accidentally kill a thug and finds
himself raised to fame – the
most unlikely type. The story explores
the plight of human relationships
caught by fate. While this is the
story line of the Malayalam Kireedam,
changes may eventually be made to
spice up the Tamil version, we assume.
Director Vijay assures that it has
fair good action sequences as well.
The
shooting is scheduled to commence on December
1 in Chennai and will move on to Karaikudi
in due course. The movie is likely to hit
the screen on May 1 of 2007, which is Ajith’s
birthday.
