We
have been writing a lot about Deepika Padukone,
the stunning model turned actress, and the
daughter of one of the finest badminton
players India has ever produced viz. Prakash
Padukone.
Despite
initial reservation to act in films,
she has made a grand entry into the
tinsel world with the stupendous success
of ‘Aishwarya’ with Kannada
superstar Upendra. The Kingfisher
calendar for swimsuits in which Deepika
appeared transported her to starry
heights. She is a permanent fixture
in most of the prestigious ramp walk
shows. Her success in modeling arena
has ensured a smooth ride in films
for her.
She was considered for heroine in
Lingusamy’s Bheema but Trisha
walked away with the honours. Deepika
is also rumoured to be acting opposite
Simbu in Susi Ganesan’s movie.
It
is confirmed news that she would be paired
with Surya in Gautham Menon’s Chennaiyil
Oru Mazhaikalam. Though offers are pouring
left, right and centre, Deepika appears
to choose the script cautiously.
Meanwhile, in Bollywood all the top stars
are vying to be paired with her. Farah Khan
has cast her opposite Shah Rukh in ‘Om
Shanti Om’. Salman Khan was keen to
have her as his heroine in ‘London
dreams’ despite the height issue.
But since the director wanted Priyanka Chopra,
Deepika could not bag that movie. Lady luck
seems to smiling at Deepika once again with
Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra’s next film
‘Delhi 6’ with Abhishek Bachchan.
Of course, Deepika is tight lipped on this
issue. She must be the happiest soul waiting
to be paired with the most wanted heroes
of Bollywood.
