It
is an outdated belief that progeny of celebrities
capitalize on the accomplishments of their
parents to reach the top rung. The young
generation does not want sit on old laurels
and want to prove their own merit to the
world. One such youngster is Soundharya
Rajnikanth who after graduating in multimedia
from Australia has started her own studio
by name Ochre in Chennai.
She
oozes confidence and is very certain
about Indians taking on the world
by storm in field of digital entertainment.
In the recently held Connect 2006
which is an annual information communication
technology event, she demonstrated
how computer generated images helped
some of the scenes in Chandramukhi
and how her training in multimedia
proved very effective in filming those
scenes. She is also currently involved
as a managing director of Ochre labs
with Adlab films on a ten crore project
featuring her dad. According to her
overseas market for Indian animators
is growing at a phenomenal rate.
Digital
entertainment outsourcing is the latest
catchphrase. She feels that programming
artists should get trained on digital techniques.
She also opines that multimedia should be
made mandatory at school levels as this
would open up new vistas for employment.
Let us hope that Kollywood would use Soundharya’s
skills in multimedia techniques to the optimum
and churn out good films in the future.
