Manirathnam
is in the process of wrapping up Guru. When
there is a big queue lined up to impress
Mani, Abhishek Bachchan has completed the
task without much fanfare. Yes… Mani
is all praise for the Big B’s son.
Mani’s
admiration for the Bachchan Junior
began from the times of Yuva the Hindi
version of Ayuda Ezhuthu. Abhishek
did the role of Madhavan in Yuva.
The rapport between these two director-actor
duo is commendable. When talks were
on about finalizing the star cast
for Guru, Abhishek was Manirathnam’s
first choice. He had not even considered
anybody for the role. Abhishek also
responded to Mani’s invitation
without raising a single question.
Such is the confidence and trust that
is being reposed on Mani by Abhishek.
Major
portion of Guru has been filmed at Perambur
Binny mills, Chennai. The story revolves
around the life of Abhishek over a span
of more than forty years. He plays the central
role in the movie and it would definitely
be a milestone in Abhishek’s career.
Manirathnam feels that as an actor Abhishek
has matured into a fine performer. The release
of this movie is sure to open new vistas
for Abhishek’s film career.
