It
is not an everyday affair or an ordinary
thing to be called to record for Ilayaraja,
the maestro. So it is not surprising that
Shweta Pandit is on cloud nine these days.
Shweta
who sang for the Hindi version of
Anjali when she was just four years
old has recently recorded a song for
‘Shiva’, which is a Hindi
remake of the Telugu film with the
same title. Ram Gopal Verma, who entered
the world of cinema as the director
for Shiva with Nagarjuna and Amala
as the lead pair.
Shweta recalls the moment when she
was called by Ram Gopal Verma to Krishna
Studio in Mumbai to record a song
for Ilayaraja. She was so excited
about meeting the maestro after a
gap of fifteen years. The current
song that she recorded was for the
heroine and a peppy number.
She
has sung this duet with actor-singer Ninad
Kamat. Though both of them were nervous
to begin with, Ilayaraja made them feel
at ease. Shiva is expected to hit the screens
later this month.
