Jyothika stepped into Tamil cinema and into
the lives of very many fans with a blink-and-you-miss
type cameo role for the S.J. Surya directed Vaali.
With the movie turning out to be a super hit,
she put down her roots in Tamil cinema. Her next
movie, Poovellam Kettuppar, won her enough fans
and a love interest with the film’s hero
– Surya – that bloomed into romance
in later years. Their big fat south Indian wedding
happened last year in Chennai.
The couple, Surya-Jyothika, is blessed with a
baby girl, Dhiya, recently. As if to mark a memorable
ending to her film career in Tamil cinema, Jyothika
won the Tamil Nadu Government’s best actress
award for her performance in Chandramukhi recently.
