In Pirivom Santhippom he has tried another innovation,
and for this he has employed the services of lyricist
Yugabharathy, set to tune by Vidyasagar. The song
is penned based on ancient literary traits not
followed in contemporary poetry. These literary
traits called ‘ilakana ani’ define
the grammar for poetry. He has decided to mention,
beside each song, the specific literary trait
to which that song’s lyrics belong. Vidyasagar’s
tunes have the potential to carry them far. An
innovative effort worthy of mention but purists
wonder if it would reach the audience.
