Rajini’s
friend against ban on smoking scenes
in films

Ambarish
a well-known actor from Kannada film industry
has been inducted as the Minister of State
for Information and Broadcasting in the
recent central cabinet reshuffle.
His
wife is yester year actress Sumalatha
who has acted in a lot of south Indian
films including Murattu Kaalai. Incidentally
Ambarish is a very good friend of
our Superstar Rajinikanth too from
the days of Priya. As soon as Rajini
heard the news about Ambarish becoming
the Information and broadcasting minister,
he had congratulated him over phone
from Pune where he was shooting for
Sivaji. Rajini has also promised that
he would meet Ambarish in person to
congratulate him on his new role.
While talking to the press on the
ban about smoking scenes in films,
he said that we are all living in
a democratic country.
One
cannot stop smoking just because heroes
in films don’t smoke. It is left
to the individual’s taste and likes.
Instead of banning the smoking in films,
it is intelligent if cigarette factories
are closed down. That way, one can get
to the bottom of the issue. All the same
if people stop smoking, it is definitely
a good sign.
