We
bank on our stars to fight the evil and
save the world from the grotesque demons.
If that sounded like a cliché –
which surely is - what would we call the
whistles and merriment in the cinema halls
when the hero wins over the battle against
the fiend villain.
What
we meant to say here is that though
our actors are keen to please the
likes of their fans on screen, they
are as ignorant as any negligent citizen
is when it comes to exercise their
rights, i.e casting their vote for
instance.
The recent local body elections have
witnessed an almost zero attendance
from the folks of Kodambakkam. We
assume the stars were too busy to
cast 6 votes in a row. If you may
well remember, a citizen is expected
to cast 6 votes in the Panchayat election.
While the assembly elections drew
enough filmy crowd to the polling
booths, the local body elections registered
a pathetic attendance.
No
stars other than those actively involved
in the political parties cast their vote
in the elections. Well with that we advice
you folks not to derive a role model from
the stars on screen. Not always that is.
