Munnabhai

Gandhism
has suddenly hit the limelight in the
wake of the release of Lage Raho Munnabhai,
sequel to the 2005 hit Munnabhai MBBS.
The movie, apart from rewriting the box
office records, has made the entire nation
go head over heels for Gandhian principles.
Sales
of Kadhi products have gone up unbelievably
and some part of the country even
witnesses ahimsa protests in Gandhi
style. Sales of books on Gandhi’s
life and ideologies are skyrocketing.
Impressed by the movie’s performance
in the box office, the Tamil and Telugu
rights were acquired by Gemini films
amidst stiff competition. Incidentally,
Gemini movies bought the remake rights
of Munnabhai MBBS as well and remade
it into Tamil as Vasul Raja with Kamal
in the lead. This time around Gemini
films is planning to get a consent
from Rajini – the man who best
known to keep up with the Gandhian
ideologies in his real life –
to be cast in the remake of Lage Raho.
The
plan is to produce the movie in Tamil
and later remake the same into Telugu,
as there is a lucrative market for Tamil
dubbing movies in Tollywood. Rajini has
been approached with the plan and news
is that he has asked for the movie to
be screened for him. Following this, a
preview show of Lage Raho will be arranged
for Rajini in a couple of weeks when he
can extract time off his hectic schedule
of Shivaji. Stay tuned for updates.
