One
of the notable movies the year 2006
has seen, Imsai Arasan is running
successfully all over Tamil Nadu nearing
100 days. The movie is a historic
comedy – boasted to be the first
of its kind in Indian cinema –and
disproved all notions that movies
with a shoestring budget will not
have a say at the box office. The
results of the movie fed Shankar’s
confidence about risking on casting
Vadivelu in the lead role banking
on the debutant director Simbudevan.
Imsai’s 100th day celebrations
are planned to be celebrated in a
grand scale. The function will be
held in Kalaivanar Arangam in Chepauk
on October 14, 2006.
Rajini
has agreed to extract time from the busy
schedule of Sivaji for Shankar and will
head the celebrations. Rajini will also
confer awards and mementos to the crewmembers
of Imsai Arasan. Shankar has planned to
celebrate the success of Imsai inviting
all the stars to the 100th day celebrations.
