Fans
all over the world demonstrate their affection
and adulation, which they have vested
in their beloved stars in various ways.
They send them regular mails, bouquets
for happy occasions like birthdays, wedding
days and for success in films. Some fans
reach the other end of the spectrum by
slashing their veins to show case their
hero worship. But the mildest and the
most dignified form, in the present scenario,
is the thunderous applause from them.
In
Kollywood, Superstar Rajnikanth and
Kamal Hassan are two stars of a powerful
calibre whose very presence would
evoke a feverish frenzy among their
fans. This rage would reach its highest
peak when they appear on the dais
and open their mouth to utter a simple
word like ‘Vanakkam’.
Such is the power of cinema in our
country.
Hence it came as a pleasant surprise
when music maestro Ilayaraja also
evinced similar kind of rejoinder
from the audience in the recently
concluded felicitation function for
our CM. The deafening claps that began
when he started his speech did not
ebb down even much after he completed
his talk.
It
was heartening to note the powerful response
he received on that evening. Even time
is not successful in diminishing the glory
of this man who mesmerized people with
his divine music for more than a decade.
