The heroine Parthiban first approached for this role was Kushboo, a newbie to Tamil films at that time. Parthiban had asked her if she was fluent in Tamil and Kushboo replied that she only knew a few words, which disappointed him. He felt that he wouldn’t be able to direct an actress who isn’t familiar with the language and opted for Seetha, who was fluent in Tamil, instead.

Recently, at the inaugural function of Parthiban’s latest project Vallamai Thaaraayo, directed by Madhumita, Kushboo put forth a question to Parthiban, which caught him unawares. The actress, on reminding him of the Puthiya Paathai episode, asked that though being fluent in Tamil now, why she is still not being considered for his films? She jocularly added that even if she weren’t offered a chance they would still remain good friends. Parthiban was all smiles to this poser from Kushboo. She is definitely one star with a good memory.
