Balaji traveled all the way to Mumbai to request
Shankar Mahadevan to sing for his composition
in Inba. On finding Shankar busy recording for
another movie, Balaji and team assumed that it
would take him a while to complete his present
commitments. So the team, after informing him
of their mission, returned to Chennai. To their
surprise, they found Shankar waiting at the recording
studio, in Chennai, for nearly 20 minutes, even
before they could get back. Quite naturally, music
director Balaji was both embarrassed and overwhelmed,
as a great singer, heeding to the request of a
debutant so earnestly traveled all the way from
Mumbai. He was humbled by Shankar's dedication
for his work when he wrapped up the recording
in 40 minutes flat, giving valuable inputs to
Balaji in between. Shankar even went a step further
and helped him polish the rough edges –
a thorough professional indeed. Guess that's what
legends are made of!
