Bala
hires 500 sanyasis for Naan Kadavul |

Fighting
against all the odds, Bala seems to
be up and running again with his Naan
Kadavul. The movie which has always
been in the news ever since it kick
started – for controversial
reasons that is – is resumed
after a break. Bala and his unusual
crew of 500 beggars, vagabonds, and
sanyasis are traveling to Varanasi
– in other words Kasi –
for Naan Kadavul’s next schedule
of shoots.

Dance like a Vagabond
Naan
Kadavul, where Arya plays the
role of a vagabond will also
feature real life beggars and
Sanyasis. To add a dash of reality
to the scenes Bala has set out
on a search in the streets of
Chennai and entire Tamil Nadu
for potential actors hidden
in the face of platform beggars
and sanyasis with long dreadlock
beards. Guess what? Arya gets
lucky to be cast alongside these
unusual artistes. Bala is traveling
with this crew to Kasi as stated
earlier for canning one of the
songs where Arya is featured
with these people. |

Storyline
- Aham Brahmasmi
All
the religions in this world
preach the fact ‘Aham
Brahmasmi’ – that
there is only one God. However,
each religion has different
forms of expressing the same.
Naan Kadavul is my attempt to
reiterate the theory, Bala stated.
The shoots will be held in Kasi
and in the Himalayas region.
I wanted to can the shoots with
real life sanyasis. I could
have found them in Kasi but
fearing the language barrier
I decided to cast some Tamil
sanyasis, declared Bala. Few
junior artistes also appear
with the real life sanyasis
in Naan Kadavul.

Varanasi
Express
The
sanyasis will be sent in Varanasi
Express to Kasi and the shoots
are expected to be carried out
for a month or so in Himalayas
and the surrounding regions.
The shoots will commence on
December 5. Rehearsals will
be carried out before the commencement
of the shoots and producer Thennappan
has made arrangements for the
shoots in Kasi.
Arya
has the role of a vagabond raised
in the midst of sanyasis in
Naan Kadavul. Arya could be
seen crooning – if we
can call that – with the
swamijis throughout the movie.

Arya’s
father role is don by Azhagan Tamilmani
– who incidentally is the secretary
of Tamil Producers Association. Bhavana
plays the lead girl.
With the second schedule on the roll,
Naan Kadavul is expected to hit the
screens during mid 2007. |
