Trouble
is brewing in the Malayalam film industry
with two film associations going for each
other’s throats.
The Kerala Film Producers Association
( KFPA ) had imposed a ban on actors
from giving TV interviews. Recently,
Malayalam Superstar Mammooty had appeared
in a TV show, which resulted in an
immediate notice being sent out to
him, seeking explanation for his actions.
Now things seem to be getting more
dicey, with the KFPA imposing a ban
on comedian Jagadish for compering
a talent hunt show in Asianet channel.
This action has infuriated the Association
of Malayalam Movie Artistes (AMMA),
who have criticized the KFPA for slapping
bans on actors. In such a tense situation,
the two all powerful associations
are meeting on the 18th and 19th to
sort out the current crisis.
If
they fail to reach consensus in the two
day meeting, Malluwood may be on its way
to yet another strike.
